This blog is about our recent Monsoon trip to Rottikallu. A small resort nestled at the foothills of Western ghats. Instead of writing about our experience, I thought this time I will do it with pictures. As they say, 'A picture speaks thousand words'. :)

Name of the resort: Rottikallu homestay
Place: Rottikallu, Sakleshpura, Karnataka
Disatance from Bangalore: ~ 250 Kms
Nearby railway station/bus stand: Sakleshpura
Distance from Sakleshpura town: 30 kms (1 hour by jeep)
Resort tariff : 2200 per person/day (including all meals). Group discount, check in -checkout time flexibility    available.
Best time to visit : Monsoon. Or before the summer begins. Weekend is usually crowded. Hence try to make  your trip on a week day.
Approach road: Last 3 kms of the road to the resort is mud road. If you don't love your car very much          (unless its an SUV) then bring that.

Resort review:

Rooms: Decent, hot water available. 3/5.
Food: 3.5/5
Activities:  Water volleyball, volleyball, water football, tug of war, gliding, swimming, tarzan swing, short trek, visit to waterfalls. 4/5.
Mobile network: No network available. Resort doesnt have landline. Sometimes Airtel signal of 1 spike is available which you receive at 1sqft area in the dining room. 
Electricity: Generated by generators. Better carry power bank for cells. 
Staff behavior:  Friendly. 
Service: 3/5.

Ramnath's final verdict. 

Lose yourself amid the green landscapes of western ghat. A must visit place during Monsoon. Pack your bags and leave now.
